CT Stabbing Suspect Apprehended

A Connecticut man was charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing.

The incident took place in Tolland County around 1 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 in Willington on Cisar Road.

According to Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to an assault and located a 54-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

After a complex investigation involving multiple state agencies, a suspect was identified, state police said.

Hours later around 7:30 a.m., UConn Police spotted a suspicious man walking around the Storrs campus.

When detectives arrived on the scene the man was identified as the wanted suspect, Nevil Acevedo, age 21, of New Haven, state police said.

He was detained and charged with attempted murder and assault.

Acevedo was transported an processed at Troop C and later released after posting a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

The stabbing is under investigation.
